On this day every year, the villagers and locals of Mustang district celebrate the Yartung Festival, which is one of the unique festivals celebrated in the Himalayan region of Nepal. The festival will run for 3 days and celebrated with horse races, drinking, and dancing.
If you are not interested in enjoying the Yartung Festival, then the best time to visit Mustang and Muktinath Temple is during September – November or March – April. During this time period, the peak trekking season falls in Nepal as you will get a chance to capture the scenic view of Mustang.
How To Reach Muktinath Temple
If you are planning to visit just Muktinath Temple and not interested in exploring the trail and other stuff, the best way to reach is via Flight from Kathmandu to Jomsom. And from Jomsom, you will find the Jeep to reach Muktinath Temple.
Else, you can even reach your destination by road, there is a regular bus available from Kathmandu, Kalanki to Pokhara, from Pokhara you can catch either Jeep or local bus to reach Jomsom and from Jomsom you can enjoy the beautiful trek to Kagbeni.
