The center tourist area Ilam is bounded by Jhapa in the south, Panchthar in the north, West Bengal in the east and Morang and Dhankuta at west. In compare to the other districts of Nepal, Ilam always has a constant temperature throughout the year but gets heavy rainfall during Monsoon season. With our personal experience, we recommend you to visit Ilam during February-April and October-December.
How to get to Ilam Nepal?
After you land on Capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. You can either book a flight direct from Kathmandu to Ilam or get a deluxe Bus from the Bus parks of Kathmandu.
Ilam is 45m of duration from Kathmandu via a flight. While via bus it takes around 17-22 hours from Kathmandu. There is direct flight service and road service available from Kathmandu to Ilam. Ilam is around 680 km away from the Kathmandu.
The average cost from Kathmandu to Ilam via Bus is around Rs.1200 and the average cost from Kathmandu to Ilam via flight is around $130-$200.
