While heading to the southern part of Kathmandu leaving behind the disturbing traffic, you will get a final spot known as Bethanchowk. Bethanchowk was known by the King of hills as the majority hills of Mahabharat range fall in this region.
The final hiking destination Bethanchowk also consists of the highest peak of the Mahabharat range stationed at an altitude of 3000m from the sea level. From the top of the hill, if the environment and climatic condition are clear enough, then some part of Makwanpur and Janakpur can be captured from this height.
From the peak height of Bethanchowk, the Himalayas from Annapurna to the Everest and gorgeous plain is viewable. People usually prefer trekking rather than hiring a Jeep or Bus to this place.
People also named the entire hills as Bethanchowk Narayanthan. Since the small temple, Narayanthan is enshrined at the hilltop of Bethanchowk. On the occasion of Fagu Purnima, every year hundreds of devotees used to visit this place.
Bethanchowk is prominent trekking destination rather than a tourist destination. So, accommodation and hospitality service in this trail is very few. It’s better if you carry a tent and all the needy things along with you from the initiation of the trek.
BEST SEASON TO TREK BETHANCHOWK
According to the locals of Bethanchowk, the best month to trek Bethanchowk is in the month of September (Mangsir). You can even prepare the trip plan in other months. But, the trail may not be comfortable enough to travel also, the scenic view is covered by clouds and Fog.

You can even choose the route via Kavre and Makwanpur to reach Bethanchowk.
