Mai Beni, Ilam is the historical place of Ilam and is known as the temple of Lord Shiva. Mai Beni temple lies in the middle of Mai Khola and Jogmai Khola. On the occasion of Nepalese festival Maghe Sankranti, different Hindu devotees used to gather and worship and get a deep dip on Mai Khola. Mai Beni is 3km away from the Ilam bazaar. Currently, the construction of Mai Beni Hydropower project is going on.
