The popular religious destination from eastern Nepal, Pathibhra Devi Temple is the Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site, locally known as Mukkumlung. Pathibhara Devi Temple is stationed at an altitude of 3794m in the high hill of Taplejung, is the sanctify shrine of Devi Pathibhara. According to the local belief, the Devi Pathibhara listens to all the true devotee’s prayers. The Devi is known with the names Adikali, Maha Maya, Maha Rudri and other divine naming forms.

The trekking initiation from Phungling Municipality to Temple at the top hill of Taplejung is one of the thrilling experience to be felt in the traveling journey. Every year thousands of animals and tolas of gold and silver are sacrificed to please the Devi Pathibhara so that she listens to the devotee’s prayers and give worship.
When the local shepherds lost his hundreds of grazing sheep at a place where the temple is standing now. When he sacrifices the sheep and build a shrine in honor of Pathibhara Temple, all the lost herd started returning. Since that period of time, the ritual of offering sacrifices inside the temple started.
The view of the spectacular landscape, Himalayan peaks, high hills, Himalayan range of Mt. Kanchenjunga, Subtropical forests and cloudy top from Pathibhara Devi Temple is more catchy and eye-lashing.
